To Ask and Ask Not

The Bay of Pigs invasion model is what we want from our presidents: rushing into a confusing situation with unbounded hope, a muddled plan, and an endless belief in our own righteousness.

Calculation, intelligence, caution, a measured response -- those are for wimps.
