Neighborhood Watch

Joe Heller, 5/20/11:
If you want to know exactly how smart the average American is, this cartoon provides a sobering view: the rich, accused-rapist, now-former head of one of the most powerful institutions in the world (and the leading candidate for the next French President) is "French IMF guy," while the blandly-unfaithful TV-mook Jesse James gets name-checked correctly.

  1. I believe Joe judged his readers correctly. The name "Dominique Strauss-Kahn" receives blank expressions even in the newsroom.

  2. I'm with Clay. Plus the IMF guy's name is 21 characters long (including the dash) so there's a space issue.

Get your nose out of the air, Wheeler.

  3. Wheeler didn't criticize Heller. Go back and read exactly what he wrote.

If anything, Heller should have labeled it "Creepy French IMF Guy".

  4. What he said, more or less, is that average Americans are dumb asses because they wouldn't recognize the name Dominique Strauss-Kahn. And I said in reply, more or less, don't be a pretentious prick, Wheeler.
