The metaphor doesn't work well here. I wonder if the idea, the joke, could work. It has an interesting twist. I don't think I ever saw this attempted before- and that might be because it's bad idea- but if it hasn't been attempted, I give the old dog credit for coming up with a new trick.
Please remember that the purpose of Editorial Explanations is to explain and to expand knowledge, rather than to engage in any partisan bickering. All cartoonists are completely correct, in their own worlds.
