There is nothing more offensive to Republicans than nominating one of their own ex-Senators -- considered a great choice for a cabinet position by GOP candidate John McCain just a few years back -- for a cabinet slot in a Democratic administration.
Why can't Democrats stick to nominating Democrats, so the Republicans can use all of their carefully saved up talking points?
