Stockwell Day was a contender for leader of the Conservative party in Canada. He infamously arrived at the press conference to announce his candidacy by jet-ski, and was ridiculed for the stunt. He lost the leadership bid, but was a high-profile member of parliament for several years. He is also a Creationist, believing that the earth is only 10,000 years old, and that men walked with the dinosaurs. The one or two followers of Canadian politics would have no problem comprehending this cartoon. Understandably, Americans wouldn't have a friggin' clue.
