Our postulates:
A) North Carolina is laying off some large number of teachers.
B) North Carolina is also reducing class size -- down to one, possibly -- for each of the remaining teachers.
Deduction: NC is forcing those students to go all Battle Royale
to compete for the few remaining educational slots available. And so that teacher is right to be so scared of her sole student.
